Christmas Pukeko

I found this in The Warehouse about 12 years ago when I was on the hunt for decorations.  I wasn't too keen on it at the time as I was looking for 'traditional' decorations but something made me buy it.  Over the years I've become really attached to it.  Its legs have been broken several times and each time it's been mended.  The ornament never again made an appearance at The Warehouse.  Must've been a one-off 😢

'Crown Lynn'

A couple of New Zealand-made 'Crown Lynn' pieces in my Christmas collection.  Made in the 1950s.  Not everyone's cup of tea - I've been told they're "scary" - but I love them.

My father won two of them in a raffle in the late '50s.  They sat on our kitchen windowsill for years, so inevitable one got broken.  I can't remember how I ended up wth the remaining one but it's been in my possession since my late teens/early twenties.

In the 2010s I found another on Trade Me and bought it so I'd have two again.  Though they have the same number on the bottom, they are painted slightly differently.  I like that.
